I need a few things from everyone:
- Are you available on Friday
- If so, does 12-1pm, 3-4pm, or 5-6pm work better for your schedules? Please respond to this by Wednesday at 9am at the latest to have your schedule considered.
- We need to have elections for 3 positions for our organization and we would like to get volunteers for each of the specific positions and a short (SHORT) statement of your 'qualifications', just so people can distinguish the candidates. You must be a member to qualify. If you volunteered at the meeting last week, please email the rest of your info that is requested below. Here are the positions that we're looking for:
i. Treasurer: handle the reimbursements, membership dues, and keeping tabs on our newly created bank account.
ii. SBA Rep: This person needs to be reliable and available every second Wednesday at 9:40pm to attend the SBA meeting. You will represent IPS and vote in the SBA.
iii. TIPLA Rep: This person will make sure that the Toledo IP Law Association knows what UT IPS is doing and will make sure that UT IPS knows what TIPLA is doing. Should be a good opportunity to network with attorneys that practice IP law in Toledo. Also a good opportunity to represent UT College of Law to those attorneys.
- Please contact me with your name, the position for which you would like to be considered, and a short (SHORT) statement.
- Last, but not least, is someone willing to do a quick brief on Tiffany v. eBay? Preferably someone who knows a bit about Trademark law and perhaps has looked into the case for a class. If we could get that out to people on Thursday before Lars' talk that would be great. Since we have a number of new members, this should include as much background information on trademark law as is necessary to understand the case.
Thank you all very much
